Why I’m starting to hate Mozilla Firefox?

I hate to say it, but I am staring to hate Firefox.

Back in my Uni days I got tired of IE and Netscape and started searching for an alternate browser. And there was Firefox 1.6 (2004), slim, slick, shiny, stylish and sexy. Yes, I know how I sound but compared to IE 5.5 back then, yeah, Firefox was awesome. No wonder everyone went for it. So did I.

Over the years it became much better, more features and plugins. There was hundreds of plugins and themes to make it more user-friendly. But once FIrefox 3.0 hit the Internet it all seemed to go a bit slower. No, I am not talking about plugin or addon developments, its just the damn browser became slow and buggy.

I have a computer, Intel 2.66Ghz QUAD Core with Super Cooling system, 4GB RAM Running XP 64Bit OS. I opened Firefox and damn it.. it takes between 60MB~160MB RAM to browse like 10 Tabs. I reinstalled just to see if I was running any addons which was killing it, well no. Damn bugger is still crunching on my RAM.

Now dont get me wrong, I loved Firefox. Few things it can do, no other browser can do or not even close enough achieving that. Firefox opened a wide new world to TAB browsing, Split window, download management and security. When I compare Firefox to IE (even IE 8.0 Beta) Firefox still OWNs IE.

I hope the developers realize that Firefox is becoming a resource hungry software. So I am using Google Chrome and will be using it until it becomes buggy and slow as a fat baboon, and then I will find something else which is free.
